Metal maniacs, rejoice! I'm proud to present to you: EXCOMMUNION; signed via Dark Descent Records, hailing from the United States of America - performing Atmospheric Black/Brutal Death Metal, on their 2^nd album entitled "Thronosis" (released May 12^th, 2017).

Since formation in 1998; the quintet in question have only 1 album behind them: "Superion" (released in 2002), I'm introduced to their 2^nd record "Thronosis". The quartet deliver a solid slab of hard-hitting Black Metal, combined with a unique balance of intricate Death Metal equalities. 4 tracks ranging at around 28:53; EXCOMMUNION diverse themselves with an unprecedented formula of Atmospheric Black Metal & Brutal Death Metal savagery. One would think that the aforementioned time slot would be EP material, yet SLAYER's famed "Reign In Blood" record ranged at around the same time frame. However, from the opening track "Twilight Of Eschaton" I was immediately enjoying a distinguishable invention of sinister arrangements that while short, it was incredibly sweet. Each song bar one are 7 minutes long, and provide sulphurous death growls and grunts with menacingly riveting instrumentation and musicianship.

Consisting of Christbutcher on bass/vocals, the pummeling powerhouse showcases some great sound production delicacies, which stem from a complex dexterous distinction. "Nemesis" formulated chugging riffs, and constructive solos from guitarist Kyle Spanswich that executed seamlessly with the atmospherics implemented - soul draining tremolo riffs and nerve searing blast beasts captivate me with utmost stimulation. Filthy vocalization relentlessly performed with proficiency and efficiently unites all of the atmospheres into one dominant package; "World Cricifier" characterized itself with aforementioned consistencies, which showcased the sinister intentions EXCOMMUNION are delivering. There is a lot of manifestations here which varies with incredible merits & cohesive talents that require a lot of balls to develop in this kind of structure, "Thronosis" is a powerful wall of music that will have you coming back for more.

"Blessed Is The Epoch Of Darkness And Strife" concludes the record which mesmerizes me even more, maintaining that heavy yet very Black Metal tinged tone which is all round magnificent - while amalgamating a colossal Death Metal type of finesse. While it seemed that the record ended very quickly, it could be easily repeated if you're a Blackened Death Metal enthusiast such as myself.
