LAMB OF GOD are one of my favourite bands. I absolutely love their face melting groovy sound. Being a prominent Metal band it's no doubt that there will be a good amount of bands who take their sound as a main influence for fresher and newer songs. FROM EDEN TO EXILE are one such band who worship LAMB OF GOD and several other Metal acts including SYLOSIS and PROTEST THE HERO, and now, this UK based Heavy Metal outfit have released their debut album "Modern Disdain" earlier this year. Lets see what these talented musicians are capable of delivering in this 8 track album.

Starting the album off with a heavy track, FROM EDEN TO EXILE showcase their ability to create something new from an existing product instead copying the entire thing by adding punctuations and fullstops to hide the replication. The opening track, "Gospel Untold" - alongside  a couple of other tracks in the likes of "Modern Disdain" and "Volatile" - reflect this as the song portrays LOG influences with some fresher elements as add ons. The foretold addons range from the inclusion of heavier breakdowns and thunderous drum licks to thrashy and technical guitar patterns. Keeping Groove as their base for creating something fresher, these UK metallers deliver some insane songs filled aggression and ferocity.

In analysing the other half of the album, we have a handful of songs that keep listeners hooked to their music. Tracks like "What've You Done" and "Sentiment" owning the tracklist. The most interesting song is undoubtedly "Sentiment", and this is what the band have to say about it: "Sentiment is loosely inspired by a poem called 'My Last Duchess' by Robert Browning. The song follows the story of a deranged and paranoid young man, who after meeting the love of his life began to prey upon and manipulate her insecurities and weaknesses to make her succumb to his every need. When he begins to fear that he may lose her, he puts a plan together to keep her forever in his possession." - FROM EDEN TO EXILE. With a musical industry that focuses on generic things like violence, gore and satanism, I appreciate the effort made by FROM EDEN TO EXILE to write a song inspired by beautiful poetry. The song itself portrays versatile elements of music ranging from breakdowns to shredfeasting. "Sentiment" is definitely the best track on this album.

Overall, I definitely enjoyed this album and I will make sure to put this album on repeat in future. Even though there aren't many flaws on this album, I would definitely love to have some better production (not complaining), as at some points one might find it difficult to distinguish the instrumental passages. However, the Instrumentation is written well and most importantly it is definitely worth listening to some of the bass sections that they included, which is kind of rare for Modern Bands to do. FROM EDEN TO EXILE have a clear path laid out for their future and I'm sure that they will lead this path correctly without taking any halts on the way. With everything that's been said, I would definitely recommend this album for all, especially for LOG fans.
