Mordbrand - Wilt album cover

Swedish Death Metal is still kicking ass, even in the year of 2017, and MORDBRAND are just one of the million bands that are still relentlessly devoted to the genre; with irrefutable love towards it. These guys, coming from Värmlands län, Sweden (you guessed it) have been going around making some sick music since 2006, mostly releasing quality splits, EP's and singles. However, just some of this material were full-length albums - this new one is only the second one in their career - and that brings us to only one possible conclusion - only the demos are real! Jokes aside, some of the finest material that has come out from the minds of these crazy bastards, and my personal favorites were: "Necropsychotic" in 2011 (released through Deathgasm Records), which was an absolutely sick EP, and a great first impression for most people, and also their first full-length called "Imago", backed by the aforementioned label in 2014.

Some other material I would like to mention is one of their compilations called "Hymns of the Rotten", and one of the many EP's (also released in 2016) called "In Nighted Waters". Now, 2017 marks the release of their brand new full-length album called "Wilt". Although not too much focus is put on the titles here, the band still manages to create an amazing sound. There are nine songs of demolishing riffs, relentlessly sick vocals and brutal drumming. Let me try to convince you! "Bleed into Nought" has all that I mentioned previously, but if that's not enough, you'll get some nasty melodic sounds with lots of brutal drumming wrapped in brutal atmospheres and incredible vocals, combined with just a little bit of D-beat.

The album was released as a CD and an LP through the previously mentioned label, and after listening to this record I definitely think that it fell under the radar. It's amazing. That country will never stop mass-producing such unique and talented bands, and if you like EVOCATION, ENTRAILS or DESULTORY, these guys are definitely right up your alley.
