Metal maniacs, rejoice! The Thrasher returns to present to you: DANZIG; signed via AFM Records, hailing from the United States of America - performing Heavy Metal with Doom Metal/Rock, on their 11^th Studio Album entitled "Black Laden Crown". (Released May 26^th, 2017)

Since formation in 1987; the quintet in question have 10 albums behind them, I'm introduced to their 11^th deliverance - "Black Laden Crown". My knowledge with Glenn Danzig's MISFITS is not extravagant to this day; I however have heard of them and finally have a legit reason to discover his solo quartet at least. 9 rocking tracks, ranging at around 45:51 - DANZIG provide a solid, intricate slab of groovy instrumentation and musicianship. The titular track begins the album with hard-hitting riffs and a doomy atmosphere with some...very unique vocalizations that sound typically classic and punky; albeit maybe a little too loud as it overtakes the instruments here and there, they are however proficiently sung so if you can get pass that little nitpick then more power to you. "Eyes Ripping Fire" speeds things up as Tommy Victor on guitars shreds with intricately crafted licks at his disposal, the songwriting and sound production is solid and stellar so far.

"Devil On Hwy 9" showcases a groovy tempo that immediately gets you into an energizing sense of stimulation, powerhouse drummer Johnny Kelly pummels his set with complex adroitness - distinctively crushing with proficiency and flair. The lyricism on this song is also excellent; "Pedal to the Metal on the blackest road you can drive" as the vocalization from Glenn Danzig grows on me with enlightenment.

"Last Ride" slows it down with more dexterous riffs in which consistently flourish with efficiently composed adroitness, even with the tempo low in effect - there are a lot of organic aesthetics in which has motivating substances and fulfillments. Bassist Steve Zing elegantly provides a stunning pummeling that invigorates more exquisite values, this is evidently clear in the next song "The Witching Hour". Building up with more sufficient delicacies, the song get heavier in tempo and has a distinct "War Pigs" by BLACK SABBATH rhythm as the ending chorus kicks in. The doomy characteristic is executed profusely, with some nice Heavy Metal licks and headbanging succulents. "But A Nightmare" is similar in tone with a nice thrashing riff mid-section, which is very salubrious to me and tasteful. "Skulls & Daises" keep the doomy ambience in-check, thriving to constructively give you that tainted experience.

"Blackness Falls" is the next in line, executing hard-hitting riffs while implementing mid-tempo significance. Concluding "Black Laden Crown" with "Pull The Sun", I am overall compelled to say that DANZIG compiled a fantastic record that while the perplexing overtone of the vocalization was a little overdone - I still enjoyed an eccentric record that merits itself as almost masterful, certainly one to look out for.<
