Blasting into your face metal music with a double edged sword of musical chaos UK's own THE PARASITE SYNDICATE delivers their rage with their self titled independent release. One might compare this groups sound to that of DISTURBED meets AS I LAY DYING but with THE PARASITE SYNDICATE forge a fresh take to metal despite the numerous musical similarities. Frontman Rich O' Donnchu vocally expresses his temperament with clean cutting vocals to hard angered growls makes for a powerhouse combination of metalcore to melodic death metal. Interestingly the vocals mix well with the rest of the group that holds a steady taste of maddening sounds that bring some innovation to this bunch.

Beginning track "Breathe You In" takes you by the hand and directly into the mosh pit with an onslaught of whirlwind guitars that pound incessantly with the grooved bass and powerful drums which is a great start to the albums entry. Previously there was mention that the band draws from numerous influences from industrial, death to melodic metal and their songs cover the supernatural, conspiracy theories, alternative history to space and time as well as other thought forms. This is an interesting take to songwriting inspiration if you ask me, but nonetheless the group has a way of putting these all into a gumbo of their own and branding it with their own special blend. Take for example song "Ghost" begins with a heavy bass line that cores it to the bottom with knockout drumming that kicks into gear that awakens guitar leads that can really shed light into the darkest corners of the soul. Lyrically the song is essentially written what appears to a confused a ghost that is going through a self realization of sorts. Not sure if this is the case but the song is well structured both lyrically and musically.

Crashing power driven tunes can be the description of what one might ponder when listening to THE PARASITE SYNDICATE but upon listening to them numerous times this is a pending act that is sure to win some over. Song highlights that are guaranteed to satisfy are the two last songs "Animus" which is a melodic tune that is eloquently written and "The Illusionist" that thoroughly demonstrates how extreme the band can go with their songwriting. THE PARASITE SYNDICATE shows what a band can do without going to overboard by staying true to their sound and talent. Excited to see how far this band goes from here on out and with hopes a strong label will back these parasite gents 100%. If melodic metal with a solid backbone of musical maturity is your liking then look no further for THE PARASITE SYNDICATE is here!
