One regards Finland, with its scenic beauty and its rich cultural heritage, but what lingers just beneath all that lies a Metal scene that is flourishing at an outstanding rate. Bands such as AMORPHIS, IMPLAED NAZARENE and BEHERIT to name a few produce some of the richest flavored music that is offered so as you can now tell what the Finland Metal scene is capable of. This leads us to upcoming act SEPULCHRAL CURSE unleashing their mark upon Metal kind with their second EP titled "At The Onset Of Extinction." It's an EP that displays brutality at it's best with four songs that display the ultimate in sheer intensity with ferocious guitars, blasting rhythms and crushing vocals. Not bad for a band that has etched it's mark upon the scene since 2013, one might think upon first listening that this band was an already an established act for many years. We might as well consider them apart of those ranks due to their consistency of establishing a solid sound and developed musicianship that sets them apart.

SEPULCHRAL CURSE pile drives the listening decibel from the very get go with their first song  "Envisioned in Scars," which turns into a diabolic serenade of guitar chords which shred masters Jaakko Riihimäki and Aleksi Luukka create. Vocalist Kari Kankaanpää lays down the vocal tornado of torment with his low bass tones which blend well with that of drummer vocalist Tommi Ilmanen intensity. Each song in their own right are well pieced and are memorable through their structure and mostly via the rhythm section which produces quality heavy tones. Bassist Niilas Nissilä bass cuts through displaying serious power punches that work out extremely well through this EP. Would have to say the most impressive track of At The Onset Of Extinction is "Gospel of Bones" which is a heavy assault blaring chunky bass, grooved drumming and dual guitar chops which speak volumes.

Overall, SEPULCHRAL CURSE works their sound to ultimately gain the listeners attention by showing they are a true force to be reckoned with, not only by their music but by their approach to their craft. From beginning to end this EP leads you wanting more but have wait till this act releases a full length album in the future. For those Death Metal fans seeking an act filled with mosh pitting guitar chops, seek no further for this band will most definitely deliver the best to any head banger out there!
