HOUSE OF LORDS is a melodic rock band from Los Angeles, California with a bit over 20 years of experience. "Saint of the lost souls" is the 11^th official album, and considered to be one of the most anticipated albums of March 2017. The band debuted in 1989 with the release of their self-titles album, a record that is still regarded as one of the best arena rock releases of the '80s. I cannot say anything bad about HOUSE OF LORDS. From the guitar, drums and bass all the way up to the flawless vocals, everything is right on point. For it's respective genre, it sounds great, and it will more than surely satisfy the fans, I do not have a doubt.

BUT.

I am either too young, or I have too much iron in my blood. I just cannot enjoy it, unfortunately, finding it far too soft and slow to be enjoyable. It feels, one way or another, as the type of music I'd play during a dinner with someone's parents, in order to impress. And it makes writing this article so much harder since it's my own subjectivity that has problems with it; otherwise, from an objective standpoint, HOUSE OF LORDS killed it! Now, in an attempt to leave my subjectivity behind:

The song with the same name as the album, "Saints of the lost souls" was, for me, the one I actually enjoyed. That being said, it should be a giant hit for the fans of the genre. It had an oldschool ring to it; couldn't really put my finger on it, realize which song/band it sounded similar to, but the guitar and drum combo in that song is very enjoyable and very well constructed. Oh, yes, the solo somewhat reminded me, only a bit, of SCORPIONS. Grew up with them, so of course it brings a ray of light in me, making it my chosen favorite from the album."Grains of sand" is another little jewel of the album: it has a repetitive (in a good way) ring to it, and combines the band's general melodic rock sound with something a bit heavier. That guitar just makes the whole thing sound awesome; hats off to Jimmi Bell for his technique, he managed to make a fan out of someone who's not too passionate about the genre.

"Saints of the lost souls" will be released on the 24^th of March, and it is a highly recommended album for the fans of melodic rock.
