Love And A .38

LOVE AND A .38 is a modern rock band that was born in the United States of America. They released their sophomore album "Nomads" in February of 2016. These guys have done everything they have by D.I.Y. and social media efforts. These guys use an "it's all Rock and Roll to me" approach to creating and performing their music. "Nomads" comes in with ten tracks and about 40 minutes of listening time. The opening track "Oh My God" is also the debut single from this album and the track attached to check out this review. It's not my favorite track on the album but it is one that the listener can get an understanding of the music LOVE AND A .30 produces. It starts with a march-esque beat that turns to the heavy Southern Rock tone with music and lyrics.
"Just Like A Regret", the second track is more of a Modern Rock and the perfect radio rock. It is easy listening, with some Alternative elements and some more poppy undertones. It's a dancing song. Track three "Went Away" is one of my favorite tracks on the album. It has phenomenal musicianship. The vocals are a little grittier and there is some real emotion in this track. "Holy War" track six, shows off a little Bluesy and Jazzy tone. It's a track that stands out a little more than the rest of the track because of its unique mixture of Blues and Jazz in its Alternative Rock base. "Born To Make Me Die" is a much softer track that is much more resembling of Classic Rock. This track is just another testament to the sub genre shattering these guys control, but still keeping their own unique sound intertwined.
LOVE AND A .38 have a unique sound that is distinctly their own and undoubtedly rock. There are elements of Blues, Alternative, and Southern Rock all mixed together creating an extraordinary album. I have reviewed three albums in a row that have stumped me on the label front. Many of these bands are radio ready, not that not being on the radio holds any credibility, I'm just confused at some of the crap on the radio, and there are these guys who aren't even with a label. "Nomads" is a fun Rock album, with strong Southern Rock elements. Check it out.
