Metal maniacs, rejoice! The Thrasher returns to present to you - BLACK RAINBOWS, hailing from Italy...on their 5th new album entitled: "Stellar Prophecy" signed via Heavy Psych Sound Records.
I'm acquainted with BLACK RAINBOWS; a Psychedelic/Stoner Hard Rock quintet, formed in 2005 with 5 records to date. Utilizing a very brutalicious tone embittered with Stoner Groove elements; influenced by such quartets such as BLACK SABBATH and LED ZEPPLIN. Once again...another band I'm unfamiliar with, however...a band that evidently prove that Rock is not dead. "Stellar Prophecy" is induced with a heavy fuzz of instrumentation, indulged with hints of a blisteringly cosmic boogie of profoundly enjoyable musicianship. I could feel the unrelenting vibe of atmosphere of stoner-like coherence in the mood; giving the listener chilled out enlightenment, among some intriguingly heavy riffery that warrant a deserving merit. The quartet in question is basically the bastard son of 70s Hard Rock and 90s Stoner Groove; I can undeniably guarantee that this opinion is a factuality.
Instrumentally; each member abuse their weapon with dexterity and passion, I could feel some hard-hitting potency that embodies some enriching melodies of killer proportions. Alberto Corce on drums pounds his set in the heavy-hitters such as "Electrify", "Woman" and "Golden Widow" similarly evident with Gabriele Fiori on vocals, guitar and keyboards...who flawlessly does an ingeniously exemplary impersonation of the great Ozzy Osbourne; which irrefutably clarifies the genre indefinitely. His musical prowess is swift, as is all the other talents. Giuseppe Guglielmino on bass effortlessly pummels his strings with some furiously intent efficiency. Practically confirming that BLACK RAINBOWS are a consistently adept band; if you love a bluesy-esquire touch in your music, look no further..."Stellar Prophecy" predicted its greatness and into motion; this here group compile brilliantly written songwriting of stellar proportions.
Tracks such as "Evil Snake", "It's Time To Die" and "Keep The Secret" explore the more catchier and faster effects while executing more in-depth pummeling that share a distinctive yet unparalleled incentive that can be incomparable. Completing "Stellar Prophecy" with the languid 09:28s track "The Travel", echoes that psychedelic atmosphere indefinitely that keeps one on the edge of time in a chilling groove of epic proportions. All in all; I am compelled to say that BLACK RAINBOWS has intrigued me and suffice to say, that this is one of the most enlightening records of 2016. Clearly influenced by the evolution of Rock and Metal in the 70s; I am compelled to say that fans of BLACK SABBATH, LED ZEPPLIN, DEEP PURPLE etc., will relish this record for what it is...it's short, however it's so damn sweet; worth checking out if you're looking for an enjoyable but purely heavy listen!<
