Denner / Shermann - Masters Of Evil album cover

In Metal you have gods, kings, princes, queens and everything in between. You have royalty through and through and you have the gods and emperors of a style of music that has echoed through the souls of people for over 40 years.

You have another generation of Metalheads now that has not seen the likes of bands of MERCYFUL FATE, VENOM, TROUBLE and countless others. Unfortunately they have had bands (pretty much in the last 10-12 years) like DISTURBED, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, bands that should bow down to the legends of Metal because they sure as hell aren't on the same pedestal to be perfectly honest.

I feel it's a shame that the people of today haven't been able to live that older Metal generation but now comes DENNER / SHERMANN and its like everything is right in the world. This band has a presence that I can't put into words. They are legends in the Metal scene with their work with King Diamond in MERCYFUL FATE. They decided to finally make their own band and it's a progression of sorts from that band. It's traditional Heavy Metal to its deepest core. They got a killer singer that can belt out his lungs out and has tremendous range. On two of the songs (''Son of Satan'' and ''Masters of Evil''), Sean Peck does his best King Diamond and it's freaking awesome!

The song that really stands out for me is ''The Wolf Feeds at Night'', Sean Peck does his best Ozzy Osbourne and it's a killer song. It reminded me a lot of Ozzy's early solo career before it turned sour on a few awful albums (in my honest opinion nonetheless).

Most of the songs on this album (I'd say except ''Servants of Dagon'' that sounds a lot like early PANTERA) are reminiscent of the golden era of Traditional Heavy Metal like the early JUDAS PRIEST albums and the early stuff from bands like SAXON as well.

It's a very well balanced album with killer riffs and an awesome singer. I really want to check out his other bands because he's one of the best singers I have heard in a very long time in Metal (or any genre for the matter).

A definite must-buy!
