This is the second full length album from the Austria based Western Thrash Metal Band. At first glance you'd think that they were an American band, maybe from the Southern States, but much to my surprise, they are band from Austria. That pretty much caught me off guard, to be perfectly honest!
Innovation is the fruit of creation and this band does give you something you never heard before. I never thought that Western Themes and Metal would give something that intense. Actually, I never ever thought that someone would mix both of those styles. To say it gives you something eclectic would be an understatement, to say the least.
The lyrics are pretty basic but do talk about the western lifestyle and western movies. I am not a big fan of westerns, but I thought it talks about something you rarely hear about nowadays in music. Like I said beforehand, it sounds very American and that's not necessarily a bad thing. The production is pretty good and there was a lot of effort put into this album.
One thing that stands out, according to what I read on the Internet, is that their live concerts are something else. They give a hell of a show and they even have they own saloon girls. It's a nice touch and from what I saw on YouTube, they give a great show and it's high energy.
Highly enjoyed the cover of KENNY ROGERS classic ''Lookin' Out My Backdoor'', might not be on par with CHILDREN OF BODOM's version but still a pretty cool song off of this release. Who would have thought that I would write about KENNY ROGERS in a Metal-Temple review!
Anyways, the classic thrash elements add a lot to the mix and I thought it was an interesting hodge-podge of music. It's not my cup of tea, but they bring a lot of originality to the table. It's more Rock and Roll than Heavy Metal, per say, but it definitely is something to give a second chance to if you don't like it at your first listening!
It's not mind-boggling and the songwriting is subpar, but it's really original and quite memorable (well at least half of the album is pretty catchy to be honest). Their video clips are pretty funny (even though they don't have a big budget) and it's a nice touch on the Western theme as well.<
