WORD OF LIFE is an Alternative/Progressive Metal band from Athens, Greece. They was formed in 2013, and brings ancient Eastern and Greek traditions into the raw power of heavy metal music. They released their latest EP "The Great Work" Independent on July 16^th, 2015.

WORD OF LIFE creates a unique, alternative sound that creates quiet an interesting combination, coupled with the theme of wanting the wisdom of humanity's creator. This makes for an interesting yet quite likable mix. "The Widow's Son" explores the topic of how the God(s) above have found a lost son, and how the person has sought a relationship with Him. It gives us a hope that we will get to know someone who is our creator in our afterlives, and gives us hope that there will be a better life after the life He [our creator] has given us here on earth. "As Above, So Below" is the tune of our creator and His beautiful architecture of our world, including the human life on our planet. It celebrates the beautiful life that He has created here on our planet, and the power that this maker has over our human race. Everything on this planet is made by this creator, and is beautiful in His perfect image.

Moving on to "vIAOv", this track begins with seeking new life each morning and orienting ourselves to the world in which we live in today. Our God(s) shall enlighten us with their ancient craft and give birth to a new version of the human soul. The final track "The Great Work" is the summary of the great work our creator has done, and the human race that He has been able to make as a result. It's a great work, and there are secrets that the human race is out to seek. These are the secrets humanity is out to find, and it seems they will stop at nothing to get that knowledge.

WORD OF LIFE has combined this message and sound that they spread to create an uplifting EP with almost a Stoner Rock sound to it in the background. We are reminded of the complexity of human life, and the beauty of it at the same time. It's something we should never take for granted, and while WORD OF LIFE is not necessarily a "Christian" band, they definitely speak to a higher power that created this life we enjoy each and every day.
