Bootlegged In Brazil (DVD)
Richie Kotzen

I don't think that Richie Kotzen needs an lenghty introduction for the shake of this review. He has shared the stage a some big hits with POISON and MR BIG. His solo works are also worth mentioning where his guitar skills join the classic Hard Rock vocals. This DVD is something like a complement to the live recorded Live In Sao Paulo that was recently released.
The title of this DVD has the term 'bootlegged' that really depicts the film direction of the show. The use of several 'free' cameras has captured the intimate atmosphere of this club concert. The feeling of pure Rock 'n' Roll really comes to life when you put the disc in your player. the Brazillian fans are there just for Richie singing and screaming when it is possible careful not to cover the 'dirt' American Hard Rock vocals. All the guitar lovers will enjoy Richie's performance who keeps the balance between showing-off and performing. The fact that there is just only one guitar is not causing problems since the sound is just perfect and has space for the bass and the drums. There is nothing fancy in this release apart from the main show that is clearly focused on the music itself. I cannot discuss the bonus material since the promo DVD just comprises the live concert.
As I said in the beggining the direction is based on free moving cams that justifies the sometimes blurry image (it is hard to notice it though). The blues and jazz influences come and go making the entire show fun and joyfull to watch although for a DVD the time duration of 75 minutes can be characterized as short.
I think the above pretty much cover this DVD release that I think is for Richie's fans who want to have the visual aspect of his works that it's worth to mention is his first solo video release.
