Arch Enemy - Tyrants Of The Rising Sun - Live In Japan album cover

It's not a big secret that ARCH ENEMY have hit hard the Japan selling charts especially with their last album Rise Of The Tyrant. It is also common knownledge that the addition of Angela Gossow behind the mic marked the begining of a new and most succesfull era for the band.
So, to celebrate the wide success of Rise Of The Tyrant the Swedish band packed the live gear and traveled to the land of the rising sun to shoot a powerful DVD. I say powerful because the Japan metalheads are already known for their die-hard support to the bands they love. I had the priviledge to watch ARCH ENEMY in Europe (Greece) and  the US so this DVD concluded my live experience with them.
the venue that hosted the live event was in Tokio and from the shooting it seemes to be an excellent one. Big stage, very good light show and excellent sound. Regaldess the work in the studio the recording sounds 'live' enough while the crowd does its part singing all the lyrics and Ammot's guitar melodies. Angela looks hot as hell and sounds like she has demons inside her and I think she has already earned a place in the female Metal queens list (Doro is still on top of course). the film direction is dynamic enough to get you virtually in the first rows of the venue and feel the energy that flows from ARCH ENEMY's flawless performance. I bet that the director spent some hours watching the band on-stage because the outcome is impressive and really follows the fan's looking perspective.
Watching this DVD I was totally stoned for the second time by the guitar solo from the Ammot brothers. The track is a composition that many guitar heros would love to have on their albums while the lights help to make visual result just perfect.
I cannot find something to complaint about apart from the fact that in fact has to do with the band itself; I think their live performances are way too professional  following the same on-stage schedule everytime with the same moves and breaks in the setlist. On the  other hand one can say that this is the way you do it when you have the busy-as-hell touring program like they did the last year. Regaldess of my saying, the band is totally connected to the energetic crowd that follows Angela's 'commands' with headbanging and some cool mosh-pits.
After the SLAYER-esque dual guitars and the sing-along melodies of Nemesis ARCH ENEMY take a break to receive a reward from a magazine (I think so) and then gloriously close the concert with We Will Rise where everyone is singing the chorus lines along with relentless and sweaty Angela.
The DVD menus follow the Rise Of The Tyrant artwork and are easy to operate without having to way too long for them to get activated. The bonus material stays at the basics with a documentary about the filmed concert and their success in Japan plus three video clips.
To conclude this review I can say that it's the perfect way to close the Rise Of The Tyrant most succesful tour where the band and their fans gave 100% of their energy.
