Dario Mollo is a fantastic guitarist that I actually managed to see live at Birmingham's Asylum performing a special set with Tony Martin. I really enjoyed his playing on some BLACK SABBATH classics such as "Lawmaker" and some originals he penned with Mr Martin. So it was a nice pleasure to get to review this album and revisit his playing. For this album he's gotten hold of the mighty Glenn Hughes for vocals!

Opening up with "All That Remains" we are treated to some nice grooves and some really well produced heavy sounding tones. Hughes' performance is exactly what you expect; its powerful and it never disappoints, with a nice level of versatility. "The Well" has a real DEEP PURPLE kind of sound to it, with some great riffs and feel throughout.

"Rattle Shake Bone" is a good track with yet more groove in spades, which seems to be the overall goal of the album at this point. The song really builds nicely into a fantastic crescendo provided by Mollo's guitar playing. "Underneath and Down Below" starts off ominously with some great almost metal playing before opening up into a sweet sounding verse that wouldn't have gone amiss in the 1980s before taking an unexpected twist back into heavier territory.

Title track "Waterfall" is more of a ballad, blending beautiful clean sections with great heavier moments to create a great song. "Karma go" brings back some heavier riffs and groove again, with some great rhythm section tightness and a stellar vocal performance.

"Evil Thing" kicks off with an appropriate bass intro before introducing some great sounding riffs that wouldn't sound out of place on some SABBATH albums. This is definitely the heaviest track on offer here, and it doesn't disappoint. "Eldorado" begins with some dramatic arpeggiated chords and nice lead guitar playing, before slamming into a nice hefty groove.

"White Feather" is a tad more melodic yet retains that heavier edge the band is quite capable of, blending light and shade to good effect. "Sunflower" Slams into action with some nice drum parts and a great overall feel to the track, showcasing some nice songwriting techniques too. "Last Door" Closes the album with yet more great songwriting, and some lovely bass playing that elevates the track nicely in feel.

Overall this is a very strong album, featuring some great talents. I can't really fault the release, it has everything you'd expect from the musicians featured and then some!
