Betsy Weiss, aka Betsy Bitch, has been a mainstay in the hard rock and heavy metal scene since the early '80s. She changed the name of the band from BITCH to BETSY in 1988 to see if it would help get greater appeal because of the bad rap about the band name in the past.
She is the self-proclaimed First Lady of Heavy Metal and was a precursor to WARLOCK (DORO), GIRLSCHOOL and Wendy O' Williams of THE PLASMATICS. She has influenced pretty much any woman that has tried to make their mark in the chauvinistic world of Heavy Metal.
This is another reissue by the great people at Divebomb Records. They do a great job re-mastering and helping out to make it much better than it was originally. This a deluxe version with a remix of "Sunset Strut" and an unreleased song by the name of "Walls of Love".
This is balls-out (no pun intended) heavy metal. She doesn't pull any punches and gets straight to the point. Like a Metal version of Pat Benatar with the pissed off attitude of a woman scorned. She keeps you on your toes with her aggressive style and it is definitely a change of pace from the female fronted bands we have today. Much less punk oriented than GIRLSCHOOL, but still has that edge to it.
She has the passion of Ronnie James Dio but with the drive and passion of those metal pioneers from the 80's. She isn't playing nice and she is an extremely passionate vocalist and leaves everything on the table. She gives her all on the Eponymous album and literally blows you away.
A rare gem from the pioneer in Female Fronted Heavy Metal!<
