Dirty old Rock 'N Roll. This is a Swedish hard rock band playing high energy Rock music. BACKYARD BABIES know how to get the blood pumping and feet moving. "Four By Four" is an album that is deeply entrenched in the end of the 80s and early 90s Rock 'N Roll which to a lot of us was a great time in Rock 'N Roll history.

Kicking off with the track "Thirteen or Nothing" it gets straight into its no-holds-barred style of Rock. This song was their first single off the album and sets the pace and lets you know right off the bat what you're in for.

"Bloody Tears" is the first ballad of the album and the forth track of the album and brings back memories of the late 80s and the good old Power ballad.

"Never Finish Anything" is another full on Rocker when these guys rock out the rock out at a 1000 miles an hour.

"Mirrors (Shall Be Broken)" is another slower one but I think it was almost law in the old days that you had to have at least 2 slower songs on an album at least one of those being a ballad.

"Walls" is a great track and my favourite of the album. It builds up and takes lots of twist to take you on a roller coaster ride. Starting off with some bass notes adding in some honky tonk piano at one stage, some nice acoustic guitar, and then into some full on distorted riffs, this song rocks out. The middle of the track takes you to another place before this track is quite epic.

Despite what's been said of late Rock 'N Roll is not dead and never will be thankfully because of bands like BACKYARD BABIES holding the banner high. If you want Rock 'N Roll music then BACKYARD BABIES is the band to check out. In my opinion this is a nod back to the great Hard Rock era of the late 80s and early 90s which I personally loved.
