Music has evolved and grown so much that some modern bands demand very careful listening to decipher and bifurcate the uniqueness of the sound. Speed Metal band, DIVISION SPEED, released their debut full length this September 25^th.

With 14 songs, the album clocks more than 45 minutes, but the length is deceptive here, as the album does keep you interested for the most part of it. The album doesn't get you really excited until "Snowstorm Over Narvik", which offers the nasty vocals along with the fast paced chaotic yet beautiful riffs. "Schwarze_Scharen" emphasizes on the war themes of the album, with its speech filled intro, before blasting some really cool fast paced riffs. The band uses wave kind of song structure beautifully even with all the long solos squeezed in the middle. "Truppensturm" is one of the better songs on the album due to its anthemic feel, but the 39-second instrumental in "Thunderer Monarch Conqueror" doesn't click with me and is a little disappointing. "Black Wolves" brings with it a subtle melody before going rampage with the guitar work. The band does a great job in keeping the intensity and freshness intact through the next few songs like "Freezing Cold" and "Sturmbataillon". The album ends with 2 songs, which reflect what the band is capable of bringing new to the table - Speed Metal with a bit of chaos.

German bands have always had a special place in my heart and ears, though like I mentioned earlier DIVISION SPEED offers a new sound, though not anything greatly innovative, but still ticks most of the boxes for me. With 14 songs on offer, the album does feel a lack of variety in the latter half, but all in all for the seasoned fans of Thrash, Traditional Heavy Metal and Speed Metal, this ST album should be worthy of their time.<
