Caustic Method - The Virus album cover

When you hear a band for the first time it can be hard to pin a genre on them, but sometimes you don't need a billion sub-genres to classify a band; sometimes a band just oozes pure, undiluted music. CAUSTIC METHOD is one of those bands, not quite Nu-Metal, Hardcore, or Death, they capture the very essence of Metal in it's purest form. CAUSTIC METHOD has been around since 2003 and has spent their time perfecting an aggressive sound expertly delivered in their first full-length album "The Virus", which was released early in June of 2015.

As soon as "The Virus" kicks off it draws you in instant head-banging, ear rupturing bliss, the appropriately named release will infect your brain, once you start there is no turning back. I love cooking as much as I love metal, and most chefs will tell you that the best dishes are the simplest, containing the fewest ingredients possible and prepared in the most basic of ways. This sentiment translates perfectly to CAUSTIC METHOD. The band doesn't use too many technical or drastic time-changes, fancy effect pedals or drawn out guitar solos to bring their sound together. They aren't gimmicky or in any way cliché, they are simple and direct but at the same time uniquely satisfying, CAUSTIC METHOD should be held as an example of what modern American Metal should sound like.

The guitar and bass seem to rapidly strut along, giving it a "bounce" that instantly makes you move while the drums skillfully blast some seriously hard and impressive beats accompanied by the aggressive, powerful vocals. It's as simple as that, CAUSTIC METHOD is accessible and digestible for anyone who enjoys music that makes you want to thrash around without regard to personal injury, property damage or the feelings of their neighbors.
