Dysentery

"Fragments" is the first full-length album of the Boston Death Metal band DYSENTERY. This album was released after their appearances in many Death-fests around the US. This album is a violent, angry, welcomed addition to the Death Metal world.
The vocals of this album made by the vocalist Scott Saveria, are not unlike any other bands of this genre. The grunts are low and hard to understand just as I could never enjoy but I do believe other Death listeners enjoy very much. The difference in this album than any other Death Metal is that no instrument, especially the drums, overloads the others. In fact, the guitars and drums are working together in perfect sync. The guitar lines are very good and are able to stand on their own. The drums are supporting the entire sound, and move with the guitars on the exact beat. I have to say that I don't enjoy it when bands are all playing together on the beat since there's no chance to hear something of their own. It feels like there is no place for each player to put out his inner self but only as a group.
The songs of this album are fast and short, what makes it easier to listen to. Without understanding any of the words I do believe they are violent and like any other Death metal are dealing with the great universe and death potential of this universe. Listening to this album I must say, they are a fine Death metal band, and sadly nothing more. I could not spot the difference between these guys to any other Death metal band I've heard. They are, infect, a nice addition to your CD rack if you are a fan of this exact genre.
