SECRET RULE was born in early 2014 with seasoned members of the Metal world. So, it is without saying that those in this band have had practice before the creation of SECRET RULE. Born in Italy, the band has an artistic and drama filled creative history to look to for inspiration. The band released their debut album on February 16, 2015 "Transposed Emotions". According to SECRET RULE this work was created as a Progressive Rock album. There are elements from Power Metal, Industrial, and Pop and is riddled with acoustic and electronic inserts and melodies that will instantly be remembered. Now let's see if that holds true for the average listener.
The album starts with a robotic voice that quickly turns in to a Symphonic Electronic track. The guitars and bass are lowered to enhance the Electronic elements instead of overpowering them. "The Journey" starts off slow I think, but as "Transposed Emotions" advances so does the energy and musical enchantment.
Tracks five and six, "Lifeless" and "Sensation" both have powerful guitars that are ready to hook and never release. The solos are impeccable and the melody is enchanted. The vocals are clean and angelic, as with the rest of the album, her vocals can be quite ravishing. She keeps a thick accent, which is appealing and exotic. The bass and drums work exceptionally well together and hold the harmonies and melodies tightly within one another.
"Reena" is a sensual track that leaves the listener wanting more, or at least it did for me. It starts with a melody that hooks and never truly lets go. The musicianship in this soft piece is undeniable and for me is something that I've had a hard time putting words too. The guitar solo is just as perfect as you can get with direct correlation to the Classic Rock genre. The drums are beautifully done leaving out blast-astic beats for a more low-key sound. Track eight is undoubtedly powerful.
Other honorable mentions are "Sleep Forever" and "Vision". Two beautiful works of art that can't go unnoticed once you've listened to the album. Both different in every sense possible but work so closely together that one track leads straight unto the other.
SECRET RULE has released an amazing album that shows true musicianship and a purely captivating composition. "Transposed Emotions" is beautifully written. It has highs and lows and exceptional elements that would appease almost all listeners.
