The Lounge Kittens - Just The Tip album cover

They managed something that no-one thought was even possible; made one of Rock and Metal's angriest songs sound so sophisticated and elegant.. The cover I am talking about is LIMP BIZKIT's "Rollin", which has even been praised by Fred Durst himself. This seemingly unattainable mission was accomplished by Southampton Lounge covers trio THE LOUNGE KITTENS so to say they are doing well is an understatement They bring forth their debut EP "Just The Tip" that in my opinion beholds a small but fantastic collection of their best work.

Just in case you have been living under a rock for the past year THE LOUNGE KITTENS went viral with their infamous lady like cover of "Rollin" around this time last year I believe. They have since released more renditions of famous songs including AEROSMITH's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing", SLIPKNOT's "Duality" and a cheeky SEAN PAUL medley. They have also appeared at some of the UKs biggest festivals such as Glastonbury and Sonisphere, where they were even invited on main stage to open LIMP BIZKIT's set. They have just finished a tour with STEEL PANTHER and SKINDRED.

Onto the EP which starts of flawlessly with their cover of ANDREW WK's "Party Hard" in this we can already hear the unblemished harmonies between the girl's voices and the fantastic accompaniment from the piano. I have personally lost count how many times I have listened to this EP over the past few days; there is certainly something for everyone on this EP.

My personal favourite covers on the EP is STEEL PANTHER's "Gloryhole"; I feel this track really demonstrates the girl's vocal abilities at their strongest and it was particularly amusing to hear words deemed explicit in a well spoken, operatic vocal style. I also admire their own take on AEROSMITH classic "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing"; I believe the true beauty of a fantastic is making it sound like your own and that's exactly what these ladies did.

So if you fancied hearing some of the most famous Rock anthems in a unique style then I recommend this EP.
