COLOSSUS are a heavy metal band from Raleigh, North Carolina. The band has been active since 2005 and has released their first full length album "...and the Rift of the Pan-Dimensional Undergods" in 2008. 2009 saw the release of the EP "Drunk On Blood" and 2012 saw the release of the EP "And The Sepulcher Of The Mirror Warlocks". If you haven't gathered by now, the reason this album is called "Drunk On Blood And The Sepulcher Of The Mirror Warlocks" like their EPs "Drunk On Blood" and "And The Sepulcher Of The Mirror Warlocks" is because it is a re-release of both EPs under the band's new German label Killer Metal Records.

Now lets get to it - The band knows how to rock like its the eighties - IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST, SAXON and basically the entire movement of NWOBHM is well heard in the songs - as well as speedy guitars, twin harmonies and lots of neat leads. Vocalist Sean Buchanan sports a voice that is pretty much signature to the genre - kept clean, and goes for high screams on occasion. The lyrics contain many of the themes signature to the genre - battles, fantasy, magic and more of that direction. Something you notice while listening to the album, looking at their Facebook page or the album's cover - the band has a kind of humor that I really appreciate - instead of staying isolationists - the band gives a fun vibe that really makes you relate and want to keep listening and follow closely.

"Drunk On Blood And The Sepulcher Of The Mirror Warlocks" is a fun album to listen to - it preserves the vibe of the eighties like it was written and recorded then - and not like just a remake. If you like american speedy metal with old school British vibes with a tang of humor and fantasy - you found your match.
