Hard Rock, very much in the style of THE DOORS, form the modern band LANDSKAP and they're back to show us that Rock ain't dead.
I don't know if anyone ever thought Rock was dead, but now you're reassured that it is, in fact, not dead. Now here's the first issue, I barely like THE DOORS as it is, so in my opinion, I don't think there's a need to have ANOTHER one. Second issue, there's no hook. A band needs a hook, something to pull you in, really anything that makes you want to keep listening. I've listened all the way through "II" a few times, necessary to be fair to the band, but each and every time I had to stop myself from changing the album out of a lack of interest.
I can't pick a single song to explain, it really doesn't make a difference because anything I say applies to them all. As a suggestion to the band themselves, the idea of being the new version of THE DOORS is great, keep it up don't get deterred, BUT remember THE DOORS are already THE DOORS so to be a new version of them, you need to bring something new to the table something with more to offer than just sounding like a bunch of B-sides.
To whomever is reading this, if you like THE DOORS and are hoping for some magical new tunes to be dug up that never got released, this might be the closest you get so its not a horrible idea to check it out. Let's just hope the fate of Jake Harding is better than that of Jim Morrison.
