North Seasons - Eyes Of The Blind album cover

After receiving a great run of promos to review so far I am saddened to say the EP provided by Newcastle based Hardcore quintet NORTH SEASONS had broken this streak. It also reinforced why Hardcore isn't my favourite sub genre of Metal.

The opening track "..." does certainly entice the listener in and lures you into a false sense of security. I say false sense of security because this soft ambiance track then abruptly transitions into the chaotic track "Silhouettes". I did honestly at first think it wasn't too bad and I was wondering what the rest of the EP brings.

Unfortunately for me it brought the same composure in every single song and I grew quite tired of hearing the same structure over again. I tried very hard to find the EP's unique selling point and more emphasizes but alas I failed to find one, even after listening to the EP a second time.

The one thing I do like about the EP that kept my attention throughout was the impeccable vocal work between Harvey Tuck and Mattie Turner.

It might prove a treat for fans of Hardcore Metal but for me personally, it didn't make the cut.
