Wrong Way To Die - Ingrates album cover

Appearing on the scene in 2010 with a 3 track demo, the 4 guys from Italy are back with a 9 track album "Ingrates". As soon as you hear the it you just know that they are going in the direction of being a Metalcore band, and honestly I think it's a good direction to head in, it just sounds good to hear. As a band you really want to make a good first impression and to me WRONG WAY TO DIE have certainly done that.

Even from the start in "On Drugs" there is no build up, it's just straight in with the riffs and drum beats which go hand in hand underneath the vocals. With a band like this you need songs that start straight away, it keeps people wanting to listen to more and it stands out, you hear something straight way, it wake you up a bit. Tracks like "Reverentia" and "Withering Decay" are right in your face it starts with something loud whether it's all the instruments and vocals or the drums, there's always something loud to keep you going. But there are also tracks that start off much quieter than the others, which is good because it shows that as a band they don't want the same thing all the time. It's different but a good different.  Think of "Heartless Chests" as a heart broken kind of song, at first it's all sad because you've lost the love of your life, but then you get over it and take it out in anger and the track turns into a heavier mix, the sort of headbang kind of type.

There's even a quiet interlude in the middle of the 9 track album "At Dusk" it's the shortest track on the album but that's what you expect. It breaks up the album it in contrast to the previous 3 songs it's on a totally different scale. Then you have the second half of the album "Adante" "Hard to Believe" "Coin Toss" and "Shades" they all start quietly but they seem to build up into the Metalcore vibe that is present throughout the whole album. All in all it's an interesting 9 track piece from WRONG WAY TO DIE.
