Maybe a band and maybe a one-man musical project, IAMEND are an Irish project that formed by the producer & musician, John Ohle. With influences as MUSE, DREAM THEATER , FOO FIGHTERS, LED ZEPPLIN and more, the bandproject suggest a large selection of genres in their debut album that called "Syndicate Of One".

The album starts with "Intro (Fall)" that feel like he came right from some the soundtrack of some drama movie and also bring us to the first song "On Your On". The song starts very good with some great guitar parts and epic vocals. But the song's problem is that the vocals and the instrumentals are not matching to each other. We can hear that the band planned this song a lot and that the band invested a lot of thinking in it, but because of its difficult problem, it's very hard for me to like this song.

With a very funny start, that reminds me something that SLIPKNOT did in their latest album, starting the epic song "Set the Scene". The song is an Alternative Metal in its edge, very great song and remind me some of the songs of the band WALKWAYS. The band creates a heavy, catchy and amazing hit that is one of the highlights of the album, and for me opens for real the album. As its previous, "Assuming" is another classic Alternative Metal song with a great melodies and drums that seems to be coming right from SYSTEM OF A DOWN. Once again, the band proves that the real album starts now.

"Meltdown" is much more alternative, but still not forgetting its heavy guitars. The one word that can describe the song is just a total piece of fun. After the party of "Meltdown", comes a more deep song and personally my favorite song in the album that's called "Don't Tell Me". With a lot of patience, the band gives a lot of warm and emotions in this song and makes it stressful and exiting at once. I said it and I saying it again, this is a song with a lot of emotions, and a lot of thinking was spent in the amazing lyrics and in the all song. The band brings to us a great masterpiece with one of the greatest solos of the year and a performance that should win in the "best Hard Rock performance" in the Grammy.

After that, "Don't Tell Me" left me with a mouth open and a frozen hear coming the ballad "Slow Down". As its name, the ballad really is slowing down also in the level. The lyrics are very good and the atmosphere is very good change but the song is just not going very good. The ballad stays in the same tempo and doesn't going anywhere in the one half of the song and in the second half its seems like a all different song, a good song but very different. "Out There" has the same issue; the song just stays the same and not going anywhere.

After two problematic songs comes "Bullet To A War". A nice Alternative Rock song that reminds me of 30 SECONDS TO MARS (of course in their good old days), its not the same level as the previous tracks but still nice song. But it's nothing to compare to "Silent Respect", a genius Progressive song that contains a lot of different kinds of styles that coming together in this one.

With another tempo that's coming right from SYSTEM OF A DOWN and a chorus that coming right from ALTER BRIDGE and psycho vocals that coming.. well again from SYSTEM OF A DOWN, coming another masterpiece that's called, "Still Falling". "Accolade" is falling in the same old issue of "On Your Own"; the vocals are not matching to the instrumentals and its makes the song very hard to go throw to the listener.

In the bottom line, we are talking about a very promising and very talented band. They got some songs that fallen me away from my chair and remained my mouth open, including "Don't Tell Me" that, as I said, is still the best masterpiece of this album. There were also a few songs that made me tired a little bit. But still, the good songs are making out for the failure of the others and still I very much loved this album and I recommending this one for every Rock and Metal fans.
