Vyrju - Black album cover

Music has a way of reaching out and filling the empty void inside us all meant for the beauty that can bring us together as one, the beauty that is music. There's nothing more satisfying than finding a promising new band to listen to, and I think in the future, VYRJU are going to surprise us all. VYRJU are a Black Metal band that started with just one member in 2006. The band now consists of two people and is based in Norway. This album consists of four songs that are all performed well and show a lot of potential.

All instruments, except drums, are played by the bands front man, Jan F. Lindso; the drums and clean vocals are performed by Tim Yatras. There is definitely room for more members to this band, especially if they plan to do any live shows. This album isn't as good as I feel the next albums, perhaps will be, but in time, many people will fall in love with their sound and the way they make it work.

The album its self isn't very heavy and for a death metal band, they're quite easy to listen to, no matter what mood you're in. The cover art is simple; it doesn't have a lot going on and I think this is reflected in the album. I say this because, although I do feel the album is pleasing to the ears, and I am impressed, I do think there is room for improvement in the future. I am looking forward to hearing more from this band and there is room for them in the metal industry.

Track three of this album, "Gone", is possibly my favourite; its 1:58 minutes long and is a break of some form in the album. It's not a heavy song however I feel it leads nicely from the second track and into the fourth. The tracks on this album do vary in time quite a lot but each moves into the next nicely.

"Black" will be released to the public on December 1st and despite not being the best album of the year, it is worth a listen. It would also make the ideal Christmas present for someone who is a lover of newer bands. VYRJU have a lot more to show us in the future, so keep your eyes peeled. They have a lot of talent, and when they fully unleash it on us, we're all in for a shock.<
