Audio Porn - Midnight Confessions album cover

Given hints in their chosen name by vocalist Azriel St. Michael, AUDIO PORN is essentially your classic Hard Rock band that produces vintage melodic riffs. With the release of their second record, "Midnight Confessions", the quartet have done well to contain their sexy style in the modern world.

As all genres like this seem to be outdated and 'already done', AUDIO PORN take no glance at this, as already establishing their strong hold to this outdated piece of work, by resurrecting it. A Bon Jovi style influence is present, by adding a whole new hardness level relates to their heroic influences within the music.

It's not just the style that the band have revamped but also the music found within the opening song of "This Ain't Paradise", where they have clearly marked their name. Michael's vocals are highlighted here to be the focus throughout the song before the chorus combines it all to one. Lyrically, there are massive hooks which emphasize their genre to be extreme, catchy and bouncy at the right times, you can't help but not enjoy it.

One of the funkiest riffs are found in "Working It Out" where the peak of metal is explored in this tone dropping whirl of explosions. The album works more solidly than others because of the change in pitch and style, as each song differs slightly from the other, giving off separate vibes that work as an overall sound. Where in "I'll Be Your Man" slowly drains out its metal sound, proving to be less edgy and energetic, filler songs are placed to ease the album out moderately.

A slightly new thing that has been introduced, adding two tracks, which are live versions at the end of "Midnight Confessions", "Break Me" and "Drive". However these two tracks only add to how similar sounding the band is live to disk. The transformation between the two almost seems to fail with bands, yet having the opposite effect; the high-spirited screams are amplified to the max.

This crescendo ending of the crowd cheering closes the album well, as a well-deserved band who have carried on the Hard Rock tradition.
