IDEOGRAM is Avantgarde Metal band from Milan in Italy and was created in the end of 2012. At the beginning of 2013, the band released the Demo "Raise the Curtain" and the "Theatre of the Absurd" Video clip, and in the autumn 2014, the first full length album, "Life Mimics Theatre".
My favorite track on this album is the single version of "Falling Snow" where melodic keys together with stronger riffs, growling male vocals mixing singing opera woman create unbelievable catchy track. Wonderful singing in clear style by female and male is in the beautiful ballad "Rain Of Stars" where there is melody and also accordion just make great style of it. Melodic "Geisha For My Demons" has energetic keys & drums with guitars, also growling and melodic singing by woman in an EVANESCENCE climate. This track is changeable into calmer track, which is really interesting. Climatic keys and Death Metal drums are in "Trembling Hands" where singing in melodic Opera style by female and growling by male, sounds like a mix of NIGHTWISH with CRADLE OF FILTH. The same in heavier "In A Cobalt Ocean" where balsamic voice of Opera and aggressive growl of Kabuki sound together so brilliant!
"Invisible Again" is a beautiful opener with singing woman in calmer style, then stronger riffs entry with growling and nice singing by woman in higher style. Guitar solo and brilliant keys add flavor to this track. Stronger riffs with pulsating riffs and electronic in RAMMSTEIN climate could be hearing in "The Art Of Bleeding" where there is also duo singing by screaming man and opera vocal. Very nice Electro Metal with dozens of aggressions. Heavier riffs with violins, even with punky echoes is in "Evil (In Her Hands)" where screaming together with opera singing sounds really interesting. Melodic with dozens of progression, gentle violins, piano and aggressive growling sounds excellent! Theatrical climate with great connection of NIGHTWISH singing with aggression of growl (DIMMU BORGIR) is listenable in "Reflections" and in "I Am Candle", faster drums with symphonic elements, like violins mixed with piano and Opera climate, also melody gives commercial echoes with even pop influences and this is fine mix with a stronger, powerful Metal sound.
Very nice idea is 2 bonus tracks in acoustic versions of "Invisible Again" and "Falling Snow" - they show true beauty of music of IDEAOGRAM.
Album of IDEOGRAM has interesting theatrical climate, energy and melodic! Their music is Avantgarde Metal with modern echoes and of course, melody with elements of symphonic and growling with opera voice. They very well connection of different styles with energy and melody. Surely all fans of Avantgarde Metal who like the connection wouldn't be disappointed of this CD. I can't wait to next songs and wish to rate them as a masterpiece. I think that these Italian Metallers have potential and I believe in their future.<
