After listening to "The Collapse Of All To Come" I am very much convinced to add Santa Fe based Technical Death Metal force CARRION KIND to my long continuing list of favorite Metal bands of 2014.
With the likes of CANNIBAL CORPSE and BLOODSHOT DAWN coming to as I treat myself to this brutal gift I can just imagine what it would be like to experience my kind of Death Metal songs live; each song provides the perfect tempo for any dedicated metal head to swish their hair to. I also highly admire the guitar work delivered by shred master Augustine Ortiz; everything from pounding riffs and melodic solos these just complimented well with the death growls from Jayson Grace.
The tracks that live up to the expectation of the perfect Death Metal act in my personal opinion are "In Democracy, Lies, Comfort", "Programmed To Be Unforgiving" and "Accepting Annihilation With Humility". These were the very tunes that I found myself silently head banging to on a boring day, that's the beauty with great metal music; it can energize you wherever you happen to be listening to it.
Ending in the only way Death Metal knows how, which is often with brutality, with new anthem "The Last Rebel Extinguished" marks the end of a Death Metal treat.
So with lyrics about the negative state of society, melodic guitars, thrashing drums and aggressive vocals CARRION KIND have pulled out all the stops to make the perfect Death Metal album.
