CALM HATCHERY is a Polish Death Metal band formed in 2002 and so far they have released three full length albums: "El-Alamein" in 2004, "Sacrilege Of Humanity" in 2010 and now their last effort entitled "Fading Reliefs".
Poland is well known for its reputation of having produced excellent Death Metal bands in the past, and CALM HATCHERY have not disappointed us. "Fading Reliefs" is a very cool album, smart and well written, and I think they have no intention in competing with Polish mighty ones VADER, BEHEMOTH, and I think they don't have to because they have their own style and that is what matters really.
"Sun Of God" the opening track showing what they are capable of, I really like the idea of adding that middle east touch in their music, it works nicely, and that Babylonian touch makes this CD very special, "Illusory World" raspy vocals, excellent riffs, all comes together with amazing perfection, very technical musicians, great solos, "Blessing Mantras" and "Bomben Uber Warschau" very brutal indeed, a bit repetitive but nevertheless kick asses songs.
CALM HATCHERY have given us a very good Death Metal album, very interesting with plenty of sharp twists and turns and definitely managed to hold one's attention throughout the nine tracks with lots of brutality and hate. As I said before they are not here to compete with anyone or set a new ground in the Death Metal scene, other than that they are playing some powerful, brutal and technical Death Metal with no bullshit and positive attitude.
The production is excellent, art cover very cool and smart, I really hope they stay on this path and continue kicking some asses and blowing some ears out there!
