Well all I can say about this band is the opening song starts off incredibly dreary; mainly due to the fact the first thirty seconds sounds like I am listening to a VAN HALEN tribute act which I can think of nothing worse apart from listening to VAN HALEN as they are bloody awful to listen to. But thirty seconds in it does improve as a manly, macho, aggressive guitar riff kicks in and is let down by the vocalist's vocal style. Some of you may think I would say that because I like my music to be like the two car manufacturers Alfa Romeo and TVR; like Alfa it has soul and passion and like TVR it will be really loud, really fast and will most likely burst into flames and this song doesn't have any of those qualities. The only good thing about the opening track is the heavy guitar riff but that's it; you can't have a melodic female vocalist with a guitar playing several tunings lower than standard; because that is like setting up a collaboration with the London symphony orchestra and Dizzee Rascal on the same album. It just doesn't work.
Unfortunately it was pretty much the same case with the second track "Devil in Disguise" apart from without the ridiculous Van Halen rip off intro instead they have ripped off MOTORHEAD with their song "Rock Out" but slowed down in tempo and without Lemmy Kilmister's vocals, I thought I recognized the guitar riff; I am sorry but you cannot rip off MOTORHEAD and expect to get away with it; hopefully the rest of the album won't be.
The next track "Army on Wheels" is really taking the piss because the opening bass intro and drum roll is an obvious rip off of MOTORHEAD's "Ace of Spades"; you would have to be quite tone deaf not to realize that. I just pray to the old gods that there are no more rip offs of classics. Oh boy was I wrong because the next song after the "Ace of Spades" jaunt came "Valley of Gloom" which is an unfortunate carbon cast of BLACK SABBATH's "Into the Void" from their 1971 album "Master Of Reality"; I am sorry but this has crossed the line which you do not do; you cannot expect to get away with copying two great, legendary, iconic bands like MOTORHEAD and BLACK SABBATH and get away with it.
Basically the shocking truth of the matter is nearly every song on this wretched album is a cheap rip off of a classic heavy metal song sung in a different key, the guitars tuned down and the tempo's slowed down; "Vampire's Tale" sounds like "Black Night" by DEEP PURPLE, "Eastern Treasure" sounded like another rip off of "Into the Void" after you wake up from the incredibly dull intro which sounds like you have walked into the living room of a member of green peace whilst he bores you with his favourite tribal music from the Amazon. The next track, "Eternal Rush", is yet again another MOTORHEAD rip off of their song's "Rock Out" and "Overkill" mixed together. Obviously SCARVED have a MOTORHEAD fixation. The next track "Silence" is a rip off of JUDAS PRIEST's "Angel" but sung and played in a different key. "Payback Time" sounds an awful lot like, oh, guess who, MOTORHEAD, but in a faster tempo and different key. The Title track "Dynamite" sounds incredibly a lot like "The Game" by MOTORHEAD as well. I think the only track which isn't a rip off is the last track '"Brainfog", a typical cheesy rock song which sounds like it belongs on a BRYAN ADAMS album.
The fact is, it comes across as uninspired, and I have dire hopes that future music from this band manages to stand out at least a little.
