CHAOS ENGINE RESEARCH from Poland, is an interesting Modern Metal band constructed under a hybrid spirit with a special mix of influences, and is not afraid of the courageous stylistic experimentations.

Created in 2007, the recording line-up is now stabilized since 2009. Their first album, weirdly titled "The Legend Written by an Anonymous Spirit of Silence", took several years to be completed; it was a very long process carefully designed by Famous producer, Przemyslaw Wejmann (ex ACID DRINKERS), and with much sophistication and substance, the final product was mastered by the expert hands of the Danish magician/engineer, Tue Madsen (ENGEL/MNEMIC/THE HAUNTED/HATESPHERE), and sonically, the result is absolutely stunning. Metal merchant, Mighty Music/Target Distribution, has sets the worldwide release for 29.09.2014.

It's a fine concept album about mind corruption, mass manipulation, indoctrination, modern slavery, and media treasons; the meaning of the lyrical side seems to be hyper prominent and quite essential, and is present in every aspect of this aggressive music working like a hate alibi ("All-Pervading Illusion").

Musically set in between many Metal subgenres which all are updated with extreme elements, synthetic textures, a few odd patterns ("Psychotic Waltz") and an huge density in the arrangements (the edgy scratch part in the last portion of "Break the Chains"), and with virtuosity and a truly stupendous energy ("Cruel Ultimatum") or in the groovy opener, "Go Away"!

The two vocalists share the well known antagonist trick; the first one being in an angry/grumpy/cookie monster register, and the other being in a clean aspect but still very dynamic, more like a Hard Core shouter ("Epilogue"). These great voices are specifically blended but used mainly in a dramatic violent mode, sometimes with a hidden subtlety, as in the melodic "Monument of Silence", or even obvious in "Sign of Transformation" and its unexpected catchy Metal Core chorus.

This Progressive side is enhanced by sharp Thrash riffage ("Pleasure of Killing", of course!) and even a few Industrial/Electronic loops present in tracks like Headbanger favorites, "Passion's Flame Burning", and it's surgical Djent precision, the syncopated "Critical Mass" with an impressive down tuned tightness or the great "Night Butterfly"! The only low point is the relative similarities between the songs and the redundancy in the structures, and in the alternation of voices...The dystopian future is now...Time for insurrection!
