Let's mark the list down, shall we: Awesome Folk music spanning different areas of sound and direction, check! Creative and art work based around an old fashioned beer hall, check! And last, but certainly not least, BEER themed music!!!!.
We start off with the first track of the album entitled "Get Me A Beer!", with a very groovy opening to this track with thumping guitars and drums as well as a traditional folk backing, and as well, a very manly burp to add to the opening of the vocals; it is a very beer hall like chant for any drinker to have a good time and dance around like a mad man kind of song. The entire song is very catchy, and in my own opinion, a very memorable chant for all to sing to while raising a stein to good times and drinks to be had, and I'm certainly loving every second of it.
The next song on the list is the second track, "Heaven Cast Me Out". Unlike the previous tune, this song has a very serious depth to it, melodic and very beautiful with a sense of darkness to it in some way. Either way you look at it, it is a very heavy tune with a lot of classic folk influences. It needs to be said though that it is a very interesting journey for the listener to take and I think that this could be the best song on this entire album. After listening to this track a few times over, I find myself grooving along to it as if captured in a spell of melodic empowered rhythm.
To conclude, in the time I have spent on the Metal Temple team, I have never really come across a band like PROTOKULT. Needless to say that I have found a lot of joy in their music, both by appreciating the sense of melody and beauty that they have brought into this entire album, but as well adding this sense of heavy powerful emotions to make this album cream with passion. For those looking at this article, I would definitely check out this record, whether you are a fan of Folk music or not, this is something that needs to be checked out.<
