LYRIEL is a female-fronted Rock/Gothic/Symphonic/Folk Metal band from Gummersbach, Köln in Germany formed in 2003. The band has released such albums: in 2005 "Prisonworld", in 2006 "Autumntales", in 2009  "The First Chapters", in 2010 "Paranoid Circus", and in 2012 "Leverage". Their new album "Skin and Bones" will be released on September 26th, 2014.

The opening track on the album is "Numbers", a single from the album that has inside stronger riffs with folkish echoes, energetic drums, and violins. This is a catchy track with a powerful chorus like a choir. This amazing climate is really true kick-ass! "Falling Skies" also catches my heart with lower & heavier riffs, symphonic elements, gentle violins, that has a high climate of refrain and deep vocal. The massive guitars sound fantastic with many melody and violins together with choir. The titled track, "Skin and Bones", is full of stronger riffs, DORO-style vocals and a calmer refrain singing in choir! Heavy guitars, great vocal, and progressive rate in "Worth the Fight" with  incredible chorus make this song as a  total killer

I also love "Der Weg", with stronger guitars, together with violins sounds just brilliant. German language adds to this track more strong and is what I really love. The powerful chorus is so catchy with unbelievable energy! The beautiful ballad, "Dream Within a Dream", shows class of band where piano accompaniment to the vocalist. Amazing pathetic atmosphere! Vocalist Jessica Thierjung has a beautiful voice with calm and power atmosphere, with fantastic sounds which grabs the listener's soul. Gentle singing in another ballad, "Astray", is similare to the climate of EVENASCENCE. Gentle violins in "Days Had Just Begun" add class to beautiful singing in this ballad. Just making a goose-flesh and high atmosphere with violins. Beautiful refrain and perfect guitar solo which is reminiscent of the sounds of SCORPIONS. Punchy sounds with violins is massive and is fantastic in "Black and White". Also is noticeable here is male singing - clear and also growling! Amazingly connecting different of styles of calm with aggression and has a catchy chorus in melodic choir. Other version "Black and White (Second Skin Version)" is more commercial, but also with massive guitars.

I'm really nicely surprised by this album. LYRIEL creates wonderful music with melody. Their symphonic Metal is amazing in their performance together with Gothic and Folk echoes. Every song has other schemes and other ideas. Surely every Metal lover will be in seventh heaven listening to this album. I sincerely recommend this album. During listening to such beautiful music, you can move into another world and relax. Perfect productions and fantastic compositions surely dig in your mind for a long time!
