AONIA is female fronted Symphonic Metal band from Yorkshire in United Kingdom and this seven piece band has released their second EP "Sunchaser" on July 25th 2014.
Great opener; "Sunchaser" has nice guitars, stronger climate & symphonic echoes, also opera female vocal with NIGHTWISH influences are fantastic. Noticeable here is also Heavy Metal style in guitars sound and rhythmic section (IRON MAIDEN). Band likes to use progressive change rate, which is so listenable in "Echoes" - track which opens with acoustic guitar and massive calmer sounds surrounding the listener during the whole song. With two female vocalists, this sounds amazing when they are singing together with soprano operatic voice. On this EP I love the "Reflections" where massive guitars mix with brilliant keys and opera vocal and also perfect progressive sounds. Melodic keys are really nice in a DREAM THEATER style, the singing is in TARJA TURUNEN style by moment and male vocal too. A very beautiful atmosphere is created by amazing keys where solo of keys reminds me of AERYON's work and wonderful guitar solo! Little similarity of THERION climate is in "Warrior's Path" where heavy guitars connecting with both operatic vocals and keys. The last track "Nightmare" opens with acoustic guitar with perfectly moody climate. Both operatic female vocals are so brilliant together during the singing. Refrain has nice climate with little Folkish echoes and an IRON MAIDEN rhythmic section. Here guitar solo and key solo playing together is total heaven for the ears!
After listening to the EP of English AONIA, I think this work is almost perfect! Album is a mixture of some different styles, progression, opera, symphonic, power! They are magical. Melodic tracks are in Heavy Metal style with symphonic echoes. Listenable is experience of musicians & respect for them that they connecting in their music sensitive moments with heaviness. This is a perfect mix with catchy sounds. This kind of music - mixture of power, symphonic metal, opera with modern & progressive Metal is not so easy to play and it needs time in listening & attention. Sincerely recommended for every listener who appreciates melody and perfection in music!
