Danish Hard Rock band SEA are here to release their self-titled album "Sea" and for the first time in a while, I have had to take several listens before even starting on what I can even begin to say. Usually my writing style comes more so from what the band gives me an impression of on a first listen, that, is something very important to me with music however, SEA have absolutely dumbfound me for a bit longer this time.

In some ways on the album I think SEA are almost trying too hard to show their influences within their music, especially with the track "Eyes of Sedona" - now, tell me what band the majority of that song puts you in the mind of, because, I got the mighty LED ZEPPELIN. Not all of it, I mean, there's other bands in there too. I mean, there's even a mix of some M. Shadows of AVENGED SEVENFOLD/Michael Starr of STEEL PANTHER style vocals in there.

"House of Air" actually puts me in a mind of AVENGED SEVENFOLD altogether, maybe, it is the M. Shadows vocals, the duelling guitars, the lyrical content. "Ride On" - Well, as I said between the mix of the M. Shadows and Michael Starr vocals, it's almost like they're both singing on that one, anyone notice the "Asian Hooker" vocal melody on the pre-chorus?

Whilst I'm here actually, for every song on the album "Sea" I can pin a recognisable band to it.

SEA appear to have a lot of talent musically, I mean, listen to "Aeon" or the way they can bring out some good Hard Rock and put it on the table for us. Saying that, they have let themselves down with unoriginality. I think as a band, as individuals, they are capable of so much more instead of sounding like gimmicks to other artists in the industry.

The album in itself isn't terrible musically, yet, until I can listen to them and go "That's SEA" then it's something that isn't going to be hitting the charts soon.
