A Tale Of Two Worlds

It is immediate to notice that "A Tale of Two Worlds" will hold extreme diversity in terms of musical styles and dynamics. The entire album is based on the Progressive Metal route, something all the 'cool' kids are on about.
Whilst it is somewhat impossible to say that this trio are incredibly talented and shouldn't be knocked for what they do, the album in itself is something that definitely needs a few listens to before it can actually rub off on you and that's a disappointment considering how talented these guys are.
If you're heavily into your Progressive Metal you might get into "A Tale of Two Worlds" almost suddenly however if it's something you only expose yourself too on few occasions then it's something that won't tickle your pickle right away.
Whilst sounding pretty brilliant with the harsh vocals and solid metal sounding tracks, there are times in which the music sounds disconnected especially with the transitioning between harsh vocals to clean. Progressive Metal is something that is never on one track is continuously jumping around here there and everywhere, however, sadly SCARSIC fail to pull of the changes as well as they could.
As I said, it must not be forgotten that SCARSIC are in fact incredibly talented, but, "A Tale of Two Worlds" is something that doesn't exactly show off what the band are really capable of.
I will admit, the last track "Entropy" which is entirely instrumental on piano is my favourite track as it's noticeably more stripped down and peaceful, it has some element of feeling to it which the rest of the album lacks.
I find it pretty difficult to connect entirely with "A Tale of Two Worlds" on a musical and personal level, something that is probably one of the most important things in music. Whilst the album is a good effort for this trio, it sadly doesn't tick all the right boxes and leave that special mark an album should leave.
