Along side the reissue of "Invictus" Metal Opera pioneers VIRGIN STEELE have also reissued "The Marriage Of Heaven And Hell Parts 1 and 2". Due to a switch from their previous record label the boys in VIRGIN STEELE reissued classics to ensure existing fans had a copy in case something happened to their previous one or for new listeners like myself to hear the whole back catalogue of their material.

The album is appropriately named "The Marriage Of Heaven And Hell"; I believe this to be the case because of the songs amongst this album illustrating the different contrasts between heaven and hell. Tracks such as the beautiful ballad "Forever I Will Roam" gives of the mellow, positive vibe representing heaven, on the other hand you've got aggressive opening track "I Will Come For You" gives the strong sense of hell. This eclectic selection of material that gives off a huge contrast between the two makes this album remarkable.

The bonus material this album provides includes live renditions and bonus tracks are very well placed within this reissue. Particularly the live tracks where it gives you a taste what they have to offer when they perform; like their studio recordings it sounds very grand and theatrical.

Like I mentioned in my previous review about "Invictus" I am very impressed with the instrumental arrangements and vocal work on "The Marriage Of Heaven & Hell Parts 1 & 2".  I was especially impressed with the guitar solos on the live rendition of  "Life Among The Ruins"; they were uniquely slick and were perfectly executed.

Out of the two reissued albums this one is a solid favourite as it displays both sides of VIRGIN STEELE beautifully. A must have whether you are a brand new listener or a die-hard fan.
