Generation Void (Reissue)
Iron Man

Iron Man is a band that formed in the 80's and they have been recording music for many years now. Iron Man just re-issued their 1999 album "Generation Void", and at this time it will not fly under the radar so easily. My first instantaneous thought is that Iron Man sounds exactly like Black Sabbath, yet faster, without the mundane sounds of the past.
Iron Man has been classified as a Doom Metal band, but I hear little Doom when listening to "Generation Void". The guitar work by Alfred Morris is incredible, he is a very talented guitarist, his work on "Generation Void" is very impressive!
I also really like the voice of Screaming Dee in "Generation Void" because it is very similar to Ozzy Osbournes voice, but unlike Ozzy, I can understand the words that Screaming Dee sings a little bit more, ouch, sorry Ozzy, but no worries, you are still a Rock God!
The Bass and Drumming by Louis and Jason really melds well together in "Generation Void", and I think that both of them combined is what drives "Generation Void" to the finish line with a sound unsurpassed by many similar "so called" Doom Metal bands.
I find that once a band is classified into a specific sub-genre that many would be listeners stray away from what they perceive to be a sub-genre that they do not like, at that point they do not give new albums a chance, but only if they listened to the albums on their own would they realize that the music itself, on certain albums, has such a wide variety of sounds that it is hard to classify every tune on said albums as one certain sub-genre!
My view is simple, Rock/Metal alone is what it all is, and there are many different "Styles" within such music, yet not as many "sub genres" lie within the music itself. It is a tough one to explain this to those that already are set in their ways, but it is very true. So when it comes to Iron Man, I feel that the sounds in "Generation Void" are on a more classical, original Metal style level that has long been forgotten by many new bands out their today.
Sure we want to create something new, something different unlike the norm, but when it comes down to creating great music that all Rock/Metal fans should easily enjoy, Iron Man has got what you want in "Generation Void", so feel free to pick up this already classic album for your collection.
All your Rock/Metal friends that have not heard of Iron Man will become new fans! I give "Generation Void" by Iron Man an unavoidable seven out of ten. Keep up with the times guys, and create some more of that sharp, instant classic Rock/Metal music for us fans to enjoy! Keep up the excellent work like you guys have been doing for many years now! We look forward to some more music from you guys in the very near future!
