Mortal

Silence has been broken in Melbourne, Australia by one-man Black Metal band MORDAVIA. It really doesn't take a music genius to figure out he is a Black Metal artist; given that the album cover depicts old skulls, and the not so original track names such as "Death" and "Vermin Cult" only prove it further.
With this in mind I listened to the album to find it was very melodic in terms of the some of soft guitar riffs that can be heard in distinctive opening instrumental "Awakening" and "Necrologies Of Mankind". Speaking of the track "Necrologies Of Mankind" it does provide with choral chants that you could find on a DIMMU BORGIR track.
Like I have said previously I am slowly emerging into the world of Black Metal and I have got to say this album is certainly interesting in terms of how one person created it. My personal favourite track "Frozen Skin" has that sweeping beat that will make it the ideal track to swish your long glossy hair to at a live show or at a metal club.
I do think that overall that this is a noteworthy project and a great debut album. Morgue certainly did very well to create this project by himself; it will be interesting to see this project expand with more musicians.
