I have to be very angry with myself, for not knowing ONWARD a long time ago, now I find myself doing a review on them, actually on a album that was originally released in 2002 by Century Media, "Reawaken", and now re-issued and re-mastered by Pure Steel Records in vinyl format for the first time ever. The album contains a new artwork and in a noble Gatefold and to make it even more special 250 copies only were made, a great tribute to a great singer Michael Grant who has unfortunately left this world in 2012 but fortunately his legacy lives on.

The reason I am angry is that I have been missing out on this great band, Grant's voice is amazing, very powerful, very sharp and so melodic. I mean, American Power Metal bands have that unique sounding that set them apart from anything else, as the opening song and also the album title "Reawaken". It blasted my speakers my heart starts to pound faster and I have a cold chill going up my spine, ohhh, now I am really angry, awesome song. The vocals are amazing, the guitars sharp as hell and the drum beats shaked my core. Well when you listen to bands like ONWARD you know it's good to be a Metalhead and also to be proud of it.

"In Due Time" at seven, is very heavy, great chorus and great solos, there is even a cover from LOUDNESS the classic "Clockwork Toy", "Where Evil Follows" is a very catchy song, pure Power Metal at its best. Frankly, I cannot find any fault on this album, I listened to it for hours and it grew on me more and more. To close down the curtains with golden key a great ballad in two parts, "The Next Triumph - Part I Remembrance " and "The Next Triumph Part - Part II Reawakening", what a great way to finish an album. By that time I was really wishing I had got my hands on this album back in 2002. Iit's a must have, a classic Power Metal album by once an awesome band. I pay my respect to Michael Grant, may you rest in peace my friend in Valhalla with the Gods Of Metal and Thank you so much.
