Kingdom Waves - Damned Beauty Overture album cover

Having been created in 2011, KINGDOM WAVES released their first demo, "Mistrust" that year. That was the last thing they released for two years. In 2013, they released their first, and only, full length album "Damned Beauty Overturn". The music itself is pretty awesome. The pirate theme is interesting; though not one I would choose personally. Not to say that it doesn't work as far as enjoyable goes.

Here is my biggest complaint about the album, the vocals. Seriously, I do not dislike Martin Marcell just honestly to me; his vocals are so bland that they are pretty drowned out as compared to the music. The orchestrations are actually my favorite parts. One big deal to me is the vocals seem to take forever on like the beginning of every song. "The Pirate Wedding Day", my personal favorite track, doesn't have vocals and is a lot more fun than the other songs. I couldn't even bring myself to listen to too much of this album, it was just that bland to me as far as vocals went.

Not to say they shouldn't keep on making music. I mean, you can't please everyone, you know? So I mean who knows, maybe someday they will put out something I truly enjoy. But as for "Damned Beauty Overturn" close, but no cigar.
