Where Angels Fall - Redemption album cover

WHERE ANGELS FALL is a Gothic Metal band from Oslo, Norway. This band has been out there since 2004. Within their discography you will find the EP "Dies Irea" in 2004, album "Illuminate" in 2006, second album "Marionettes" in 2008 and the third, which was released recently, "Redemption".

The opening "Beyond Repair" has a fine form, yet quite obvious, Symphonic line, yet the keyboards' orchestration kept it flowing rather smoothly. "We are the Gods" provides quite a darkened Gothic atmosphere with an impressive duet. "Senseless" came as one of my favourites, sharing melodic heavier riffs, tight rhythm section, crossing a vibe of WITHIN TEMPTATION. "Words Unspoken" clasps Industrial grooves with the a testament of Symphonic / Gothic Metal. Electronic means with riffs of RAMMSTEIN and singing in the style of NIGHTWISH and even DEPECHE MODE are listenable in "Mothmother", which also contributes a versatile cross subgenre with stronger guitars. "Defeated" turned out a little calmer, deploying low end riffery of Doom Metal. "Earth Visited" appeared the same but with slightly different symphonic orchestrations. "Victim" and "Thinspiration" are two extra chuggers, the latter being a bit into the Nu Metal end with a KORNish venture.

Summing up, WHERE ANGELS FALL is a good band with fair intentions on showing something fresher. There is positive energy within the tracklist, proving a prospect in the making. Fans of Gothic Metal and beyond would be evident to this band's talent.
