DEFY TOLERANCE is a Melodic Hard Rock / Nu Metal band from Phoenix, Arizona. The band was formed in 2011 and "Stop The Bleeding", their debut, was released right before the passing of 2013.
"Ball and Chain" turned up the heat with a melodic kind of Nu Metal, didn't appear orthodox to me, yet it came out quite good, a memorable chorus and great vocals. "Empty Bottle" is a run in with heavier riffing, power surges of PAPA ROACH and THREE DAYS GRACE. Freddy Kilo has a powerful voice, producing great melodies, a big plus for this band. "Zombified" gone shooting, no different than ol' ALICE IN CHAINS. On "Epic Failure" I was kicked by brute GODSMACK and CREED distributions, mouthful of punchy groove guitars and yet again a set of vocals to admire. "Live for Today" left its mark as the ballad, the bass line shared a distinct similarity to LIMP BIZKIT's cover for "Behind Blue Eyes". "Until I'm Done" slapped commercial Nu Rock, sounding like NICKELBACK tracks, but much more melodies based in comparison to the latter. "Get You Nowhere" and "Suffocate" conjure an impressive mixture of modern Rock, Grunge and Metal, classic stuff alongside newer directions, excellent tunes.
DEFY TOLERANCE is a highly recommended venture of Americanized Rock and Metal, shelving melodic hooks and punchy strokes, passionate songwriting and a whole lot to come back to. Check these guys out as soon as you can.
