Recast Gear For The Mindcraft Course

These guys are from Moldova, again I will say that Metal is all over the world and that's amazing. CHORDEWA are doing Progressive Black Metal at least according to them, as you probably all know I'm not a big fan of Progressive Metal nor the extreme side of the genre, however from the first song "Psyche In The Shell" I could understand that CHORDEWA have been trying something a bit different, they even threw some Progressive Rock to the mix with plenty of keyboards along the way. "Psyche In The Shell" is divided to parts of Progressive Metal / Rock and parts of full blown Black Metal, both are quite impressive.
"Mindcraft Course" keeps the same musical evolution and segments of the title track, however, it seems that the band's brutish nature is in a much larger scale while the sophistication and unique illustrations virtually derive from the retro keyboards works, warming up and 70's vibe. All in all, it is rather awkward, but interesting. Furthermore, the riffs generated an ambient sound that goes well with Traumer on vocals.
Overall it seems to be very balanced release, for CHORDEWA it is their first album and I'm sure that other album will follow.
