CLOSEDHANDPROMISE is a Metal/ Hard Rock band that formed in Texas in 2004. Consisting of 5 members, the group have recently released a 5-track EP, entitled " [iam]Nemesis". Check these guys out.

The opening track " [iam]Nemesis" introduces the listener to the band's interesting sound; Metal with a Punk edge. The riffs by Sunday Abreo are short and sharp, Colbonix's vocals rage-fuelled, and Pedro Naverette's drums and Mateo Storey's bass rapid and funky. The next track "Baron Muchausen" introduces Colbonix's clean vocals to juxtapose the heaviness, and contains some distorted and melodic riffs for further contrast. Track 3 is as speedy as the first, and features some awesome guitar work and vocals in the chorus. "Hari Kari" is one of the highlights of the EP, also showcasing Kyle Reeves's awesome synth. Moving on to track 4, we find ourselves immersed in energetic funkiness. "M31" is fast and heavy from the get-go, but takes a slow, melodic turn as the song progresses. Once again the guitars are a key element contributing to the track's addictiveness. The final track "86 Story Birth" may have a bizarre name, but musically, it's flawless. All members do their part to make the concluding track leave the listener wanting more.

Although it only contains a few songs, " [iam]Nemesis" proves CLOSEDHANDPROMISE are a force not to be reckoned with.  I listened to the EP several times before starting my review, and before forming an opinion on it. I can tell there is talent in this group, who put their heart and soul into their music.
