READY, SET, FALL is a Melodic Death Metal with flicks of Metalcore from Genoa, Italy. That was originally formed in 2010 and released their first EP titled "Buried" in 2011. Their debut album "Memento" is about to hit the streets, via Lifeforce Records, this coming February.
"Deceiving Lights" opens with strong guitars, keeps on progressing at an impressive rate, featuring a highly talented vocalist, Christopher Volpi, grunting its way with fine growls and melodic clean vocals. "Buried Alive", tad combining of the mid 90's Nu Metal, with the energies of SEPULTURA and SOULFLY, quite a memorable track, pure kick ass. "Labyrinth", features a few electronic echoes, mega melodic clean vocals presentation while symphonic elements hurdled out of "A.N.S.I.A." and on the title track "Memento", mentioning the band's open minded fragrance. The latter is nice reminder of the PAPA ROACH style. Things can become unexpected with the band's music, "Is This a Happy Ending?" is a nice example of that, grazing with Nu Metal bombastic fumes alongside soothing moments of classic orchestration. There is also the melodic "Meri Maat", surfacing Arabian guitar scales and "Tidal Waves Could Save the World", which is another wacky mixture of brutish nature and a peaceful state of mind. Here a few others to explore: "The Temple Is Me" and "Your Empire Strikes Back", kind of modern Rockers al'a SLIPKNOT and STAIND, "Honor" with an aggressive ambience like in a KILLSWITH ENGAGE manner with a clean styled singing in the vein of DEMON HUNTER.
This debut album of READY, SET, FALL has inside plenty of energy, power and newfound ideas. These guys composed great, turning up heavier thuds of Death Metal with an insurgence of Hardcore and Hard Rock. This album is obligatory for fans of SOULFLY, STAIND, SLIPKNOT, KILLSWITH ENGAGE, PAPA ROACH, DEMON HUNTER and generally for every Metal fan that likes the mix up.
