Bite / Lost Days
A Dying Pride

In a time where every unsigned Metal band is striving to get some limelight, it can be difficult to know who is worth listening to. Six piece Metal group A DYING PRIDE are definitely a band to check out, taking influence from bands such as TRIVIUM, OF MICE & MEN and WHITECHAPEL. If you're looking for something on the heavier side of the Metalcore spectrum then you are listening to the right band.
Opening track ''Bite'' is the most up beat out of the tracks but it truly is a hit. Opened up by a Djent-esque distorted guitar it is quickly broken into by the contrasting vocals of Aron Green and Jack Redfern. Though the guitars are generically of the metal core style, this band does add something different to the mix. Lead guitarist George Ward adds an impressive solo to the song at 2.38 with breakdowns throughout the song from Dan Hartley and Luke Oxtoby. Tom Renshaw's fast drum fills are nothing to be tampered with as they simply compliment the song.
''Lost Days'' is much slower than the previous but still as great, the guitars are what you could describe as melodic Hardcore. This is the heavier side to the E.P with drums being faster and the vocals being much lower. The guitars have much better melody with parts being as heavy as you can get then switching to very light and that's what A DYING PRIDE do best.
To say that the Derby six pieces have only been around the Metal scene for only a year, they truly are making a statement. A DYING PRIDE's music is fresh, raw and different. Just what UK Metal needs right now, with how the scene is currently they are bound to get snapped up by a label soon enough. If you love metal core but want to hear the heavier side of it then listen to this EP.
